Welcome to Cocoon- a few reflections on 7 years of practice.
Hello there, my name is Cat Tyndall, the founder and lead practitioner at Cocoon Acupuncture. When we opened our doors seven years ago, I had absolutely no idea that the medicine I had been waiting a lifetime to practise was so incredible.
Now, with the opportunity to reflect on the last seven years of hands on care, I have come to appreciate health on a much deeper level. There is an incredible amount of wisdom flowing through my veins these days and I owe so much of that to the beautiful souls who have walked through Cocoon’s doors for treatment.
Did you know that, as an acupuncturist, I have provided 6,876 treatments? I can only imagine the number of needles and laughs that adds up to.
With all of this experience in mind, here is what I have been learning lately:
Chinese Medicine supports us through all seasons of life. It is a beautiful addition to your wellbeing at any point and can significantly enhance your sense of vitality. It is powerful for children and equally meaningful at the end of life.
Chinese Medicine supports our physical, mental and spiritual health. When someone sits down in front of me, I am always quietly asking myself what is this person here for today? While these three aspects of health are deeply intertwined, will today’s work focus more on the physical, the mental or the spiritual?
The more you know, the more you realise how much you do not know. I will not pretend to know everything, however I do happen to know a lot. I am genuinely passionate about sharing the knowledge I have gathered along the way.
I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you sincerely, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for your trust, for your willingness to dive into your own health and for accepting me so graciously, weirdness and all. For anyone contemplating a visit to Cocoon, I can assure you, that I absolutely bring human-ness to you during your appointment. If you’re worrying about judgement or feeling fearful facing something that you’ve been meaning to gain support around, I am here. Human-to-human.
I am walking alongside you in this life and I am not afraid to delve in.
If you are looking for life support, I am here for you. I am actually giggling as I write this, given that I once worked as an advanced life support paramedic. These days, I think it is safe to say, that I am still offering life support, only it looks a little different.
