My path into Chinese Medicine has not been a straight one.

Before becoming a Chinese Medicine Practitioner, I spent seven years working as a paramedic here in Gippsland. That time shaped me deeply. It taught me how complex the human body can be, how important it is to truly listen, and how much people need care that is calm, compassionate and thoughtful. It also brought me to Gippsland, a place that I hold very dearly and feel fortunate to now call home.

Eventually my curiosity about health led me into the world of Chinese Medicine.

Over the past seven years at Cocoon Acupuncture, I have immersed myself in learning this medicine and developing a clinical method that blends my background in paramedicine and nursing with the holistic philosophy of Chinese Medicine. Cocoon itself was created from the philosophy that healthcare should feel supportive, collaborative and deeply human.

A large part of my clinical work now centres around women’s health, particularly conception, fertility and IVF support. Supporting people through this journey has become one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

Becoming a mother myself has deepened this passion even further. I have two young boys, now two and four years old and my own journey through pregnancy, birth and postpartum opened my eyes to just how profound and vulnerable the transition into motherhood can be. It gave me a deep respect for this season of life and a strong desire to support women through it with compassion and care.

Alongside this work, I also enjoy supporting patients navigating complex hormonal presentations, autoimmune conditions and chronic health concerns. These are areas that require patience, curiosity and careful planning, which is something I genuinely enjoy bringing to clinic. Like many people, I have also experienced my own health challenges over the years. Walking through that personally has deepened my appreciation for those living with chronic conditions and continues to shape the way I practise.

In clinic, I am deeply curious about what is happening in your body. I enjoy working through complexity, thinking ahead, and creating a clear plan together so you feel supported along the way.

While all of this can sound serious, I promise there is usually a bit of laughter in the treatment room too. I love supporting whole families and getting to know the uniqueness of each person who walks through the door. My heartfelt passion is lifting you up, so that when you leave the clinic, you feel heard, hopeful and perhaps even have a little spring in your step.

These days I divide my time between seeing patients in clinic and supporting our team of practitioners across the Cocoon Acupuncture clinics in Drouin and Traralgon. I also enjoy supporting Chinese Medicine students through university placements, offering an approachable clinic environment where the next generation of practitioners can grow their confidence.

Outside of clinic, life is wonderfully full with two little boys at home. Recently I have discovered a love for building and working with my hands. On my days off you will often find me in the garden, watching the sunflowers grow, tending to vegetables and caring for our chickens.

One of the small moments I notice many times each day in clinic is the gentle sound of the chimes as the door opens. Almost always it is followed by a big inhalation and then a long exhalation. I smile every time I hear it. It is a reminder that this space gives people permission to slow down, to arrive and to take a breath.

It brings me great joy to welcome you to Cocoon Acupuncture; a place where you can connect with caring humans, reflect on your wellbeing and take a moment to breathe.
